Kindergarten Standards

Engineering

  • Ask questions, make observations, and gather information about a situation people want to change to define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool.

Technology

  • Select and operate appropriate software to perform a variety of tasks, and recognize that users have different needs and preferences for the technology they use.

Coding

  • Model daily processes by creating and following algorithms (sets of step-by-step instructions) to complete tasks. 

  • Model the way programs store and manipulate data by using numbers or other symbols to represent information. 

  • Develop programs with sequences and simple loops, to express ideas or address a problem. 

  • Decompose (break down) the steps needed to solve a problem into a precise sequence of instructions.

Hi! I’m Ms. Laichalk

This is my fourth year at Clinton Valley and my third teaching STEM+. I am also the Science Olympiad coach for Clinton Valley. I am excited to help your student expand their STEM skills and knowledge, along with their "soft skills". STEM is a great opportunity for hands-on learning and practicing creativity, collaboration, and perseverance!
